Advocacy
Since 1995, Sowing Seeds has answered over 12,000 calls for help. Intake workers respond to calls from our telephone line by conducting home visits. During those visits, the intake workers validate essential needs, advocate for and connect clients to resources and volunteers who frequently are legal, financial, educational and counseling professionals. When necessary, Sowing Seeds can assist with payment for vital bills such as rent, utilities, medical needs and auto repair.
Each request is handled individually and includes a home visit conducted by two intake members. All information gathered is held in the strictest confidence. We help our neighbors help themselves and “walk with" them to first stabilize themselves in regard to essential needs and then over time, help them work on secondary needs.
